This month’s wallpaper comes out of a long-exposure shot I took sometime in the pre-dawn hours a couple months ago.  As I was staring at my computer screen  at more or less the same time, it seemed an appropriate start for a new wallpaper.  The zip file includes high quality widescreen, standard screen, iPhone and iPad wallpapers in the following resolutions:

Concern about the environment is a value that is very important to us.  So, amidst our series of holiday-themed Blogger templates, we didn’t want to forget Earth Day, a day in which we celebrate our planet and educate ourselves on how best to be its caretakers.

The rugged burlap coffee bag and aged map background are non-specific, allowing you to use this theme on your eco-friendly blog anytime, not just for Earth Day.  The green recycling symbol next to blog post titles show that you care about reducing waste.

This background combines two things I love: watercolor and paisley blooms spread across a subtly textured paper as if to signal the arrival of Spring in all her glory, daffodils, tulips, songbirds and sunshine spreading from her fingers.  I wanted to use watercolor because it is so fun to look at, with bright colors and whole ranges of different fascinating textures.  It especially feels right to me in the spring and summer months, with it’s carefree and vivid airiness.  Paisley designs celebrate spring and growth too.  Paisley began in India and Persia and is a representation of a mango fruit, a decadent growing treat that is much anticipated.  It’s a design that is always recognizeable but can be altered and adorned in infinite different ways, but is always intriguing with details and curves.  This background is my ode to spring.  Please come and brush the cobwebs from the sky with me!
