BEST | EVER is a street art duo from Bournemouth, England.  Their work combines surrealism with photorealism and addresses issues of human frailty, weakness, disease and death.  As you can imagine, the art of BEST | EVER transcends simple graffiti with their hauntingly beautiful images.  The subversive act of applying paint to public surfaces forces you to consider that some art is too important to be confined to stuffy and claustrophobic gallery spaces.

Doing Only Crooked Shit is a design duo based in Sao Paolo and Leeds,  UK that does visual art, graffiti, design and illustration.  And they’re pretty  much awesome.  I discovered them via their Times New Yorker free font available on DaFont.  Their illustrations and graffiti art explore typography and pop culture in new and interesting ways.  Below are a few of my favorites.

like our june wallpaper, Dragons!, this wallpaper is based on a mythical creature.  this one uses the image of the Leviathan from Christian and Hebrew mythologies.  Leviathan is a giant, mythical sea monster, and you can read a lot more about Leviathan on Wikipedia.  i liked the image of this enormous, almost godlike, sea lizard coiled and ready to strike.  though he looks somewhat harmless to us today, with our much more vivid and fearsome creatures in movies and television, i can imagine him giving people nightmares, and filling sea farers with dread.

as always, this wallpaper is available in widescreen and 4:3 formats, and comes in two colors.  both variations come in the following sizes:
