This collection of 17 high quality textures all come from a recent trip we took to Capitol Reef, in southern Utah.  The landscape is amazing, it’s like visiting Mars — except with a breathable atmosphere.  There are these vast canyons that flash flood frequently in heavy rain, so the canyon walls are carved by the water — in many ways it is like walking along the bottom of the ocean.  (Find out more about Capitol Reef from the National Park Service)  It was a great chance to snap up some really cool textures.

All images are high quality JPGs. You can click the thumbnails below for a resized version.  If you’ve downloaded any of our previous texture packs, this zip file will keep the that directory structure intact and each image is numbered to continue where the other packs leave off.

She eased back in her chair and took a pull on her cigarette. For having just told her that he suspected his wife was murdered, this John didn’t look too concerned. “Alright,” she cooed, “I’ll take the case. My fees are pricey, but you can afford it. I’ll need you to start by telling me where you were on the night of your wife’s death…”

We’ve been working on some projects recently with a film noir feel, so have been doing quite a bit of visual research on the style. This wallpaper is inspired by classic and neo-noir films like Chinatown with a bit of a twist; rather than the typical, square jawed, male PI starring, I wanted to play with the idea of the classic film noir archetypes with a female lead instead.  We have a film noir wallpaper already, but this one is more about the look and aesthetics of the films rather than the 1940s and ’50s posters.

As always, we have widescreen and standard versions available and we’ve included an iphone version as well.  This wallpaper is calendar-only, and the zip file contains versions in the following sizes:

This is a theme we revisit often: wood textures.  You can create anything from really rustic or wild-west-y looks to really sophisticated and dignified designs with different types of wood textures.  For that reason, it’s always good to have some good wood textures in your arsenal that you can pull out when you need them.  Here’s a few we found, and we plan on adding to this set fairly often.  All images are high quality JPGs. You can click the thumbnails below for a resized version. When we add to any of our sets, later texture packs in the same series will continue naturally after the previous ones if you keep the directories intact.
